A Ford Focus was brought to us recently, after an emergency visit to a fast-fit garage. The symptoms was a loud rattle constantly when driving. We were informed, by the customer, that the vehicle had just had suspension work, so ‘it won’t be that’.
Not only did we find that the anti-roll bar link hadn’t been tightened-up (see video link here) – focus rattle
But also the wheel nuts had been fitted the wrong-way-round! This would have eventually meant that the wheel would have come loose, so best-case senario would have been a return of the rattle, but if gone un-noticed, the wheel could have come off!
